my advice - don't install in default Windows directory

Make it install into your own directory (that's one way of being able to see notes.ini if you have Vista or Win7).

Also, there are other ways of invoking Basi, like launching nlnotes instead of notes. Make sure you don't have an old icon or link doing that.
